Covering Deadly Disasters
Covering Two Catastrophes
China's worst earthquake in decades has leveled whole towns and claimed over 50,000 lives. Meanwhile, the junta in Myanmar continues to restrict foreign aid, even as Cyclone Nargis is estimated to have taken over 130,000 lives and left over 2 million homeless. For journalists reporting on these continuing catastrophes, the Dart Center has assembled tip sheets, advice and reflection from journalists on past disasters and other resources of relevance.
